Apparently I didn’t miss much. Anywayz, a lot of ‘stuff’ coming up for the site. I don’t want to be too specific about it.
Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson
Ages: 17 and 23
Hail From: Grand Rapids, Michigan, and London
In 2009: The guys teamed up once again on the big screen for “Twilight Saga: New Moon,” and their collective hotness and feud over Bella Swan broke box-office records. They kept their names in the gossip pages with constant speculation about their dating lives and had everyone asking the fundamental question: Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Why They’ll Be Huge in 2010: Lautner can be seen next in “Valentine’s Day” alongside former flame Taylor Swift, and he’s all set to tackle the lead role in the “Max Steel” movie. Meanwhile, Pattinson will be seen in the romance “Remember Me.” In June, the two heartthrobs will once again have girls swooning in “Twilight Saga: Eclipse.”
Choice Quote: “I think Bella’s little bit of treachery in the third one will be … I think it’s going to be a good scene,” Pattinson said of “Eclipse,” with Lautner adding, “My favorite scene in the entire series is the tent scene, where the three of us are together. And it’s gonna be really fun. There’s a lot of comedy in ‘Eclipse.’ ”
Contrary to reports stating otherwise, Tom Cruise will not be costarring in the forthcoming Taylor Lautner action flick Northern Lights. Though the idea of Cruise playing the controlling billionaire father of a young aerobatics pilot (Lautner) does sound pretty great, a rep for David Ellison’s Skydance Productions tells EW that character does not exist and that Cruise is not attached to the project in any way. The official logline: “Set against the backdrop of extreme flying, Northern Lights follows four young pilots as they compete against the world’s best. A story of teamwork, sacrifice, loss, and victory, these young aviators push themselves to physical and emotional limits in the unforgiving world of performance aerobatics.”
The film — which, to be fair, does sound a bit like Top Gun with a need for speed and [insert imaginary word that means flips but rhymes] — will be directed by John Moore (Max Payne, Flight of the Phoenix, Behind Enemy Lines). Production begins this April in Louisiana.
I, for one, am loving this. When I think of hot young pilots, I think of leather jackets, and Lautner, who will be 18 when he gets his wings, happens to look great in those. We also know that Taylor — who was a four-time world champion of extreme martial arts by age 11, and is the reigning Late Night motorccyle racing champ — isn’t afraid to push it. If action movies are what he wants to do, let him. The Twilight Saga will continue to show his softer side; pics like Northern Lights could even out his fan base.
What do you think of Lautner as a young flyboy? (He’ll reportedly earn $7.5 million for the role. The Skydance rep had no comment.) Who would you like to see cast as the other three pilots? I suppose Jesse McCartney has the hair for it…
The 17-year-old Twilight hunk is raking in $7.5 million for his next flick called Northern Lights, a Tom Cruise vehicle to be directed by John Moore that will start production on April 1st.
Northern Lights is about a gifted, young, aerobatics pilot who faces off with his controlling, billionaire father and falls in love with a gifted, female pilot.
Deadline Hollywood says that neither Zac Efron nor Miley have ever gotten a salary even close to 7.5 million for any of their films. WOW
Taylor Lautner: Hollywood’s Highest Paid Teen Actor
Edit: Taylor plays Tom Cruise’s son in the movie

Taylor Lautner may be used to white Christmases of the past, but he’ll soon be basking in the sun once again.
Summit Entertainment is teaming back up the 17-year-old New Moon star and heading to Cancun, THR reports.
Cancun is the first project for Taylor and dad Dan Lautner’s new production company.
The story follows an out-of-place college kid who travels with a girl to Cancun on a break. While there, the girl and her friends are taken hostage by a drug cartel and he is forced to save them. The story is designed to take advantage of Taylor’s martial arts skills.
WHAT DO YOU THINK of Taylor’s new project?
OMG this sounds AMAZING!
This is exciting news. Thanx Yseult for bringing this to my attention.
Paramount has confirmed to me exclusively that it’s hired 8-pack-abs Taylor Lautner for the lead in Max Steel, instantly creating perhaps the next young big action star. (The Twilight Saga phenom is only 17 years old, and the Summit Entertainment folks predicted to me a year ago that he’d end up in demand for this kind of role after he bulked up for New Moon.) This is the Joe Roth-produced project based on the hugely successful Mattel property that’s an international bestseller. The movie will receive a major push planned as Mattel raises its stateside presence with the Paramount release. I’m told Max Steel will be a four-quadrant popcorn movie in the spirit of Iron Man about a 19-year-old extreme sports junkie recruited by a secret agency after an accident infects his body, leaving him with superhuman powers. The screenwriters are also young, Chad Damiani & JP Lavin, who started getting attention around town with their action-comedy script Kamikaza Love as well as Sons Of The Hammer and Capeshooters. This is yet another big young action star for the studio under Paramount Film Group president Adam Goodman along with the recent announcement that Chris Pine is attached to the Jack Ryan franchise from Tom Clancy. Then there’s Shia LeBoeuf, whom then DreamWorks exec Goodman put in Disturbia which he was overseeing, and Paramount cast in the Transformers franchise. Smart to start the youth movement (Sony Pics did that with Tobey Maguire and Spider-Man), not just because the young-uns can play the part for years, but even better they won’t break a hip doing it
Taylor Lautner has already wrapped production on what will become his first onscreen appearance following his breakout turn as heroic werewolf Jacob Black in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”: a turn opposite rumored real-life girlfriend Taylor Swift in the ensemble romantic comedy “Valentine’s Day.”
But Lautner’s next role might return him to hero territory. The Los Angeles Times reports that the 17-year-old is circling “Max Steel,” Paramount’s planned big-screen adaptation based on the Mattel toy line. The character has also appeared in an animated TV series and within the pages of a comic book.
Steel’s alter ego is Josh McGrath, an extreme-sports star whose life takes a turn when he’s injured during a brawl at a top-secret lab and some nano-machines heal his wounds and endow him with superpowers.
Reps for Paramount and Lautner declined comment in the Times story.
With “Valentine’s Day” behind him and “Eclipse,” the third film in the “Twilight” series, not coming out until next summer, Lautner’s schedule is open. However, the script is still being written — by J.P. Lavin and Chad Damiani, who also scripted an adaptation of the “Youngblood” comic series — and no director has yet signed on to the project. Thus “Max Steel” is unlikely to start shooting very soon. Still, according to the Times, Paramount is eyeing Lautner in large part because of his proven ability to get young women into movie theaters.
“Max Steel” wouldn’t be Lautner’s first superhero role. Before the “Twilight” franchise, the actor was best known for his work as the title character in Robert Rodriquez’s “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D.”
What do you guys think? Should he got for it or not?
